Pink Heart Purity
Berkhof, Louis – Sanctification is a nine part work on sanctification by Reformed writer Louis Berkhof. Sanctification
Pink Heart Purity is a single chapter work on Matthew 5:8, the purity of the heart by Reformed Baptist Arthur Pink.
This is a 7 chapter work on Sanctification by Wiseman (Holiness). He looks at perfection among biblical expressions, perfection and imperfection, then 2 chapters on perfection as being biblical, perfection obtained, perfection inclusive, perfection involves christlikeness of character. The Wesleyian tradition is that of Methodism. The basic concept here is that there is a usable “method” by which you can become holy. John Wesley promoted this along with the concept that perfection was fully possible on this side of glory. Perfectionism means that we can become sinless before our death. While all would fully agree that the Bible’s teaching is that we should strive to be holy, not all agree on the degree of total perfection (or sinless perfection) before one’s death. Wiseman presents this view.
Alexander Directions to Grow in Grace is a sermon on practical directions on how to grow in piety. His chapters are when there is no growth, there is no life. The need of the Holy Spirit, Pet Sins, afflictions accelerate grace. Gracious pardon, one step at a time.
This is a 4 chapter work by Wiseman (Methodist)(Holiness) on purity (Sanctification). Although his chapters run Sin, Atonment, New Birth, and Sanctification, he has about 18 topics of which each of these four are just one in the list.
Parsons Believers Victory over Devils Devices is an Episcopal work, bordering on Methodism, but distinct from it. Excellent review of Satan’s Attacks and Believers’ victory.
