Warfield’s work, Counterfeit Miracles, explores the world of cultic and false religions in their fight to validate themselves and invalidate the rest of Christianity. They use miracles as this basis (as one point of attack) and Warfield explains why this linkage between miracles and validation before God as “the one true religion” is in itself invalid.
Binney-Steele’s joint doctrinal work has four parts, Evidences of Religion, Doctrines of Christianity, Morals of Christianity, and Institutions of Christianity. Probably they are Nazarene/Methodist.
In this 86 chapter book on inspiration and revelation, Bryant (Methodist) has it divided into 5 parts: preliminary discussions (8 chapters), inspiration (13 chapters), The Scriptures as inspired writings (13), revelation (23), and revelation and its evidences (3). This book is a result of the Hartley lectures (Methodist) for 1899.
In Smith Wigglesworth, a Pentecostal author, he presents us with elements which increase our faith. Note that this author is a famous “father” of the name-it and claim-it Prosperity Gospel. While I personally do not endorse this position, his work is included for research purposes. How to grow our faith is the issue here, and while not everything he presents may be correct, there are ideas here that one has to evaluate to see if they have some validity.
