The Rapture The rapture is an eschatological term referring to an end time event when all Christian believers—living and dead— will rise into the sky and join Christ. In the order of eschatological events, the next thing to happen is the rapture, followed by the beginning of the 7 year tribulation, and then the return of Christ completely (arriving on the Mount of Olives to battle in defense of Israel) followed by this battle of Armageddon, and then the 1000 year millennium. The great final battle and the end of time. There is controversy in Christianity about the order of events, some placing the rapture at the beginning of the tribulation (Pre-Trib), others after the tribulation (post-trib), and others in the middle (mid-Trib)
