We find and produce modules
for theWord program.
(I, David Cox, also write my own material in theWord)
Our modules our free. Please consider a financial donation to help us keep this website up. We are constantly under attack, hackers trying to bring our site down.

The Types of Modules theWord uses
theWord is basically a Bible study program. There are a lot of different Bible versions available (theword-modules.com). But it also uses resource files, or works, like dictionaries (theword-dictionary-modules.com), commentaries (theword-commentary-modules.com), and reference books (also Bible reading plans). I have labored to make a tutorial website (www.thewordtutorial.com) for new users and for those who want to master the program for Bible study, and also for creating their own modules.
theWord-Modules
Bible Downloads
I only recommend the KJV Bible. The old language is sometimes difficult for some, but it is very tightly linked to the Hebrew and Greek. For comparative studies of Bible versions, theWord allows a side-by-side study unparalleled in other programs. I would recommend you go to my tutorial site and look for pages on Bibles.
theword-dictionary-modules
Bible Dictionaries downloads
One of theWord’s great features is simply that it has the power to link. You can set a Bible dictionary to popup the definition of the words in the Bible view window automatically. (See these tutorials, Bible Dictionary Lookup Popup Class, theWord Dictionary Word Lookup)
theWord-commentary-modules
Commentary download site
A theWord commentary does not just have the text of the commentary work, but it also has commentary modules which have chapters and verses in separate entries, so that you pull up all the commentaries that have comments on a particular verse you are studying. This is effortless once you set your commentaries you want to use.
thewordtutorial.com
A Help website to using theWord
Our theWord tutorial website has a lot of classes divided by beginner to expert, for general use by everyone, through creating your own tw modules.
Bible Reading Plans
twTutorial.com (How-to)
A Bible reading plan is a separate part of the program which allows you to read through parts of the Bible on a daily schedule. The program tells you which passages to read each day.
Bible Map Modules
These resources are high definition maps that are made in modules and can be amplified for closer examination.
Se Habla Español
twmodulos.com
Tenemos un sitio con nada más módulos en Español, twmodulos.com.
theWord has a large array of uses.
theWord is a Swiss army knife of uses in studying the Bible. It is excellent in all of these areas. You will find yourself constantly depending on it if you study your Bible a lot, and especially in sermon preparation.
The Best Bible Software
- Excellent for Bible reading.
- Excellent for reading Christian resources.
- Excellent for Greek-Hebrew study even when you don’t know those languages.
- English Bible version comparisons.
- Bible Dictionaries rapid lookup.
- Copy a Bible reference in any Windows program and see a popup with the verse.
- You can format any verse reference you select and copy.
- You can popup the Strong’s Greek Hebrew definition by clicking on any word in the KJV text.
- Using theWord in sermon preparation.
- For missionaries working in other languages, theWord has change interface language.
theWord “orientation” is to take the Bible literally
- theWord is very strongly inclined toward the study of the Bible in the original languages, even if you do not know Greek nor Hebrew.
- Simply Clicking on a word in the Bible Window, you can see the underlying original language word, and Strong’s definition (see image at left).
- You can search on these Greek/Hebrew words.
Module Authors Downloads
Author’s Last Name
Notes: Our module standards are the following: (1) all filenames have the format, Last Name-First Name-Title, with spaces replaced by hyphens, because in some cases, that makes a difference (in html not theWord). In case the author is not known, the work will be stored in Unknown authors or Numbers. (2) I am reformatting all of our works, and topics with Chapter 1, Chapter 2, etc. will be replaced with 1., 2., etc. (3) All module creator attributes will be in the actual module in Module Properties, and not included in the filename. (4) Usually a major reformat or change to the module is a major version number revision, and minor changes a minor version number. I am beginning to place the module version number in the filename.
Our New Plan for this Website: I have various websites dedicated to theWord, eSword, and MySword formats (see above or in the footer of this page), as well as html webpages, PDFs, Kindle, etc. This website will only have theWord formatted works on it. All commentary theWord modules (whether in CMT extension format or GBK extension format) will be on the theWord Commentary website. Likewise, all dictionaries will be on the theWord Dictionary website.
Additionally, for reasons of making the back end of this website easier to maintain and prevent problems, I am spreading out some of these modules to my other websites, and we will link to our own websites where the actual module is hosted. Don’t be surprised, if in wanting to download a module, you are taken to another of my theWord websites for the actual download.
