Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Death is a dividing point, in which the fate or destiny of a person’s soul is fixed according to the decisions he has made during his life. He either has Christ as his personal Savior (and goes to heaven) or he has rejected or ignored Christ as Savior (and he goes to hell). While this can change at any moment during his life, at death, God “seals his fate” at that moment, so it is extremely important to receive Christ BEFORE dying.
In the end analysis, God gives each person what they want. If they don’t want to have anything to do with God, then at death He sends that person to hell, which the worst torture is complete, final, and eternal separation from God. God is the fountain of all blessings. Being cut off from God’s blessings is exactly what Hell is about.
