Notes 3/18/26 Problems

I haven’t been able to get to this website (nor any of my other websites) recently. Let me fill you in on what is happening. Last year in August-September I was having some problems with my computer, an old Dell Laptop. I replaced the battery but even so it was dying on me within an hour without the power cord. So I bought a new Dell Laptop in October. A man in our church recommended me to a place in a shopping mall that is only computer products. He sold me my new Dell computer at a relatively cheap price. I requested a second hard drive of 1 terabyte summing up the storage to 2 terabytes.

So the first week of March, I started working on my computer, and it requested a reboot (Microsoft). Since I was working on a sermon and had several files open, I was in the process of saving everything and shutting down those files when AVAST security software also asked for a reboot. I delayed that one also since I hadn’t saved everything. I finished, and then I rebooted. Instead of coming back on, I got an error screen.

To make a long story short, I got into a DOS prompt and checked my drives. The C: drive had been wiped clean, and a small Windows installation had been installed in its place without my programs. I keep all of my data on my D: second drive, and it had zero files, zero bytes occupied.

I took it to a computer tech place, and they said that the C: was damaged and had to be replaced. They asked how long had I had the comptuer, and I told them. They said that had to be a used hard disk. So probably the laptop is also used and that is why it was cheaper.

I am a missionary, and we are living hand to mouth most months of our ministry. The last few years we have been a little better off, but I do not have a ministry fund nor extra money. I pay about $2500/year in the upkeep of my websites, and I cannot afford any professional tech website help. I have to do it all myself. But that money comes from our grocery money.

We try to balance the cost of things against their value in eternity. I haven’t done much with twmodules.com since the end or middle of February. The image below is our traffic.

So if you are normal, graphics are difficult and statistics are impossible. But let me break this down for you. The time lapse of this information is from February 16 through March 18 2026. One month.

We had 308,000 unique visitors, which made 1.44 million requests. A request is for everytime you click on something and a page or download is done. Our traffic during this time was 442 GB, or about a half a terabyte of downloads per these 30 days. On March 15th, we had a peak of traffic that totaled 126 GBs on that single day.

From the administration area of the website, I add this image.

So in this image capture of the download traffic (which a download is a file or module that is downloaded by a user, (and there is a slight amount of traffic in html pages, but that is very little actually), you can see that the downloads for March 18 so far is 6,022, and for the 30 days previous, the total is 648,267 thousand. The daily average is 21 thousand. You can see the peak on March 15, which had 105,214 downloads ON THAT DAY ALONE! Our daily average is between about 15 thousand to 30 thousand. Our daily visitors are only averaging about 200 people per day. Around March 15th we had a lot visitors for 5 days with the peak reaching 1200 visitors on one day.

So we are sacrificing for eternity, because there are some 200 people out there at least that are visiting and downloading a lot of Christian reference works, about a half of a terabyte these past 30 days. Literally a bunch of Christians with thousands of Christian reference books for their Christian life and ministry. That is worth our efforts.

But we are doing the best that we can with what God has provided for us. That means used computers to replace even older equipment. We cannot afford new expensive equipment. We get very little economic support from our users. But they are downloading millions of works. Counting the sum before I reset the download counters, 2.6 million (December 2024 through August 2025) plus 4.6 million (October 2025 through March 2026), that totals around 7.2 million downloads in about 2 years. We have had this website up with many downloads for about 15 years now. But I don’t have those statistics.

But our users rarely give anything, and some have given as little as $5. Hard to pay thousands of dollars in hosting fees with around 5 donations per year, and most years just one or two donations for the year.

But that is what is happening with us and this website. So let me be clear as far as the near future. I have to reinstall all of my programs on the C: drive. My D: drive that had all of my theWord files and other PDFs etc. was wiped clean, but the tech guys were able to recover all of that drive. Somebody was praying! So I have the files, I just need time to work to get more things uploaded.

On another front, I haven’t accessed this website (until today) since late February, I have been working on getting my laptop working because I am a pastor which preaches at least twice per week and sometimes 4 times in a single weekend, that is my first priority, so when I went to access this website in the administration backend today, I couldn’t get in. I have been working with customer support with the hosting company from 8 AM to 12PM, and I am finally able to get in.

I Need Your Help

So we are fighting the good fight of faith here in our church, our missionary ministry, and also in our website ministry. But we are in dire need of help. Please consider helping us. The most important thing you can do to help us is to pray for us. Frankly, I am getting old and tired. Working long hours has become difficult for me. I have worked from 7 or 8 AM until 10 PM many days with just taking off to eat. Sitting for such long times is difficult for me now. I have to get up and just move around.

But the frustration of having so many things go wrong constantly is where we really need help. Please pray that God would protect our websites, our health, and our church. These are the areas we would request your help. You do not have to do much, just say a quick prayer for us when you remember, but please do remember! My wife is having problems with her back, and I am having hardening of the arteries I believe (besides diabetes and high blood pressure). We are fighting on those fronts also.

I do not mind getting all the rewards from God for us personally because we pay all the bills. That is fine. But we really are a team effort with our financial supporters (churches and our friends that send us money every month faithfully and pray for us). If you are interested in joining our team please consider writing to me ([email protected]) or just sending money each month. You can send money to our home church for a tax receipt at the end of the year. See that information here (How to donate to the Coxes)
