Notes 5/16/2025

I have made links in each of the Stacks pages A-Z authors to our sister theWord modules website, https://www.thewordmodules.com/. These links will take you to the corresponding page on that website, i.e. if you are in the T theWord modules authors page, and look under the download pages buttons, you will see the link to jump over to that website, and you can see any T theWord modules there. There is a back link to jump back to the corresponding T authors on this website if you want to return and continue here.

Note that I am deliberately making these modules show up only on one or the other of these two websites. I still have duplications of commentaries here, and the same commentaries on https://www.theword-commentary-modules.com/.

In general, it is expensive to host a lot of downloads on a single website. You can do it, but there are backside software and hosting restraints that cause problems. I have experienced these problems constantly over the years. I am paying a higher hosting fee to try and trying to not have those problems, but even with the more expensive hosting package I have had to purchase, that doesn’t mean I can put up thousands of files without problems. (The site download file count is over 3,000+ as of today, 5/16/2025.)

It is not a good user experience if the same modules are on both websites, yet one site has some unique modules, and the other has other unique modules. So I am trying to keep both website with only unique modules. That is not to say that I do not have the same work here twice for download. In lists of authors that have a lot of works, like Pink that I am working on today, I am finding some modules with pink-life-of-elijah.gbk.twm and pink-the-life-of-elijah.gbk.twm. As I am finding these doublegangers, I am trying to weed them out as I have time and energy.

But you can be pretty confident that what is on thewordmodules.com is not going to be here on twmodules.com, and visa a verse. In general, my overview is to put most of the best known authors here, and more ancillary works that might not interest most Bible students on thewordmodules.com. So thewordmodules.com will have a different kind of module there than here. Also, there are a lot of modules that I wonder how beneficial they are for Bible Study, so they will go to thewordmodules.com website. If one work of an author is uploaded here, I usually try to upload all his works here also.

I will probably work next week on trying to link the tag pages of both websites so you can jump back and forth there. I am also wanting to make a single or a few zip compressed files for individual authors, like Arthur Pink, and upload them to dclibrary.org. When I do that, I will try to put a link to the page on dclibrary.org on the stack page here.

I am still working to get the majority of my files up on the Internet. But with time, I am wanting to make posts with lists of the authors and a brief summary of each of his works, as well as download links.

Concerning my methodology, please understand that I am maintaining this website by myself. So how I think is kind of important. The concept I am using is that of a library stack (which is just a bookshelf with books on it) which has some kind of designation of the order. In my case (electronically), I am using WordPress’s category and tags structure. A stack for me is a place to always get to the book. In a library’s card catalog, you can see cross-indexes where it would refer you to the stack number (Dewey Decimal number, which I am not using) and the author and title of the work.

Since I am using software and the Internet for this library, I do not need the Dewey Decimal system nor real cross-indexes, because I can directly link to the work and users can download it “from the card catalog” reference.

So to clarify, when I upload a work to these websites, I always want the work to be named (author-lastname)-(title).extension. The category is always the stack where it is “physically” located. But then I always want to add at least one tag to that download, and that makes the same work appear in the download tag page.

For example, Portman-The Holy Spirit.gbk.twm, will be listed on the P author page stack/category page, but since I also put “Holy Spirit” tag on that download, it will show up as a download on the Holy Spirit Resources page. This allows people doing focused research on a specific Bible topic to jump to that resource page and download a tremendous amount of works at once (using DownThemAll addon for web browsers). For example, on the Holy Spirit Resources page above, there are 126 works on the Holy Spirit, some shorter, and some massive works with dozens of chapters. If you are wanting resource material for a study on a particular Bible study area, this is of great use (to me, and I assume to others).

Everything is free here. I am a servant of the Lord. So far this year, I have only had one donation of $5 for all of my 34 websites. The worker is worthy of his salary, but apparently few of you are wanting to send anything. $5 is good, because it is better than zero dollars.

Today the number of downloads stands at 1,134,810 total downloads. That is 1 million, 134 thousand, 810 downloads. That works out to .00000044 cents per download. Wow!

Note that I am a missionary working for about the lat 30 years at 50% of my support level, and I am paying for my Internet ministry (these sites are part of that) our of our house living expenses, for 20 years now. Few if anybody donates. I may get a half dozen donations per year, most under $20. Yet I am joyfully doing this as a ministry to the people of God, not because they are so generous (obviously my users are not) but because I love God with all my heart. If nobody gives anything (and there have been years like that), I will still pay for it. When I die, this will go away. Sorry, take advantage of it while I am still alive and able to sustain this ministry.

Just to let you know a sample of some of my other websites, I make my sermons into tracts that I distribute to our people every time I preach. I translate some into English. (700+ Spanish tracts, versus about 90 English tracts). On my English tract website, coxtracts.com, in the top ten downloads, each of the top seven downloaded tracts each has over 230,000 downloads. The other three are over 100,000 downloads.

On my Bible Dictionary website, https://www.coxbibledictionary.com/coxbibledictionary.com, I average about 500 visits per day. On my PDF, Kindle, EPUB, MOBI website, https://www.bibleresourcelibrary.com/, we are averaging 10,000 visitors PER DAY! On our eSword website, https://www.eswordlibrary.com/, we are averaging 5,000 visitors PER DAY, with peaks of 25,000 visitors on one day. On our MySword website, https://www.myswordmodules.com, we are averaging 3,000 DAILY VISITORS, with peaks of 4,500. Yet between all of these websites, only $5 so far this year. Sad.

Maybe the least you could do and still say you are doing something is to just say a prayer for me, my wife, and our ministry ONCE A YEAR! Doing that and emailing me saying that you prayed for me would be a great encouragement.
