David Cox as Webmaster and tw Curator
I consider my work here as both running the website, but also as a “Curator“. A curator of a library is the person that maintains the library in the best usable format possible. For example, the curator decides which books to include, which to exclude, and even dusts the books. That is kind of what I am doing.
Making the topic titles right
Study this image.
If you examine topics 1 through 7, I consider this format of lower case text for the titles as optimum. From 8 through, the rest is kind of hard to read. In the Internet blogging, all capitals are considered that you are screaming or yelling. It may be acceptable on a rare occasion, but in general, all capitals are hard to read. In ancient Greek, this was called Uncials, or all uppercase. The Greek alphabet began with only capital letters. With time, the Greek language developed lower case letters. Today, we use and make a lot of emphasis in the distinct between upper and lower case. The Jehovah’s Witnesses make a distinction in their version of the Bible in John 1:1, calling Jesus “a god”. That entire argument, and the revelation of their doctrine against the deity of Christ, hinges on the difference between lower and upper case. I do not think in time past, this was even an issue, much less as much as we make it today. But today is when we live, and today it does reveal something important.
In my modules “that I curate“, I want to make the topics as readable as I can, so this is my norm and standard. Apparently, many people who make modules are not of the same opinion. Yes, it takes time to retype them as they should be. tw and eSword module makers take stuff off of the Internet, and those pages were put up by people who likewise thought things looked more important or prettier all caps.
