We had about 2000 theWord modules for free download on the website when a hacker took us down. I have backups of this website, and the hosting company has backups. Apparently, the hackers inserted some code somewhere within the website, or on my hosting platform that caused the website to just not work, i.e. a blank page. We replaced the current code of the website (all of it along with 1.7 gigabytes of download files), and the problem persisted.
I have 34 websites that I maintain, some half dozen for theWord, eSword, and MySword (as well as several with PDFs). We have had as much as 276 gigabytes in traffic, downloads, in a single month this year. But twmodules.com is set apart in that it has been suspended a dozen times this year (very few of the others even once) because of hackers and overload of people visiting and downloading. I spend more of my time on twmodules.com that probably half of the other websites combined. Yet there is seldom if every a donation for any of these sites. We are talking like one $15 donation in six months or a year from ALL 34 websites combined. We keep faithfully working and people keep donating a ton of files from my websites, and we will get all the rewards in heaven because there would seem to be nobody who would help shoulder the burden of this ministry. (Again, everything on my websites is free. Nobody appreciates that fact.)
I would like to advise our users of twmodules.com that I am restoring this website from scratch at the present time. Before I upload these works again, I am reviewing every single module to see if I need to reformat it, and make sure everything works. Some works are incomplete, with parts of chapters cut off. That is how I got the module. So I am remaking the tw module from scratch, so it is complete. I am still making new modules for theWord from archive.org and other websites with old books in PDF format, sometimes image files where I have to convert the image to text (OCR it) and correct it, for books that are 200+ pages. (Two scans per page.) Yet for my labors I have constant headaches because so many people are downloading these files, and none of those people cooperate at all! Amazing. I trust the Lord to take care of me and my family. He will reward.

When prices in the US are skyrocketing, and if you go buy Christian references works at a bookstore, you are looking at $30 or $40 per book, and I had 2000 books available before this last attack, you would think that a single $40 donation would be a no-brainer when I am offering 2000x$40 = $80,000 value for free. Maybe you are not going to use all of these works, but nonetheless, if you only use 20%, that would be like $4,000 you are getting for free in a day when everything is extremely expensive. Typically, a family of four at McDonald’s is going to cost you more than $40 per time you eat out. Consider any donation of any size acceptable to me. I have years of paying hosting fees and putting a lot of that on my credit card, and I am trying to pay that off constantly.

This website is basically a product of David Cox’s laptop in my office. I have copies of all the theWord modules that were on twmodules.com so they are not lost. But it will take me some time to upload 2000 modules, much less the post article that the downloads are on. I am studying the matter.
But even the backups of the site would not work, so I cannot use a backup copy of the website to upload and return to where we were. There are other people and websites that have consistently downloaded everything on our site to copy our work here. Any public domain work can be used by anybody for any purpose. That is the entire concept of “public domain“.
But even though I am getting older and slower, I want to continue this ministry as long as God permits. Use this site for as long as it is up. One day, probably soon, it will disappear.
